Methane (CH4)
This Open Path Gas Detector (OPGD) is specific to Natural Gas / Methane (CH4). The separate transmitter and receiver assemblies are certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres and can detect CH4 over distances of 5 to 200 meters. Constructed in high grade corrosion resistant 316 Stainless Steel this device is ideally suited for onshore and offshore, open and enclosed environments. With no consumable parts and the patented daily auto-self testing facility called ‘SimugasTM, the Senscient ELDSTM CH4 detector offers significant installed and operational cost savings over conventional fixed point flammable gas detectors.
Features :
- Ultra narrow wavelength operation Improved uptime availability in heavy fog and rain conditions compared to conventional including Xenon flash and filament lamp based IR devices.
- SimuGasTM daily auto gas testing No manual intervention or on-going cost for routine gas testing.
- Fastest speed of response (<3 seconds) Increased safety by providing earlier warning.
- Optional, 3 orders of magnitude increased sensitivity over conventional Xenon flash and filament lamp based IR devices  Providing earlier detection and faster shutdown.
- CH4 specific No false alarms from other hydrocarbon gases, oil mists or even diesel fumes as experienced with many other flammable gas detection technologies including Xenon flash and filament lamp based IR devices.
- Operates up to 200 meters Significant installation cost savings over multiple fixed point gas detectors.
- BluetoothTM connectivity No physical intervention required for local interrogation, event log downloading and trouble shooting.
Methane (CH4) - VZ
This Open Path Gas Detector (OPGD) is specific to Natural Gas / Methane (CH4). The separate transmitter and receiver assemblies are certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres and can detect CH4 over distances of 0.5 to 5 meters. Constructed in high grade corrosion resistant 316 Stainless Steel this device is ideally suited for onshore and offshore environments. Typically positioned in front of one or a number of banked ventilation air intakes and with a genuine speed of response of less than 1 second, this device is ideal for fast shutdown of HVAC inlets. With no consumable parts and the patented daily auto-self testing facility called ‘SimugasTM’, the Senscient ELDSTM CH4 VZ ventilation inlet detector offers significant operational cost savings over conventional fixed point and cross duct flammable gas detectors.
Features :
- Fastest speed of response (<1 seconds) Â Increased safety by providing earlier warning.
- SimuGasTM daily auto gas testing  No manual intervention or on-going cost for routine gas testing.
- Ultra narrow wavelength operation  Improved uptime availability in heavy fog and rain conditions compared to conventional Xenon flash and filament lamp based IR devices.
- Increased sensitivity over conventional Xenon flash and filament lamp based IR devices e.g. 0-10,25 or 100% LEL Â Providing earlier detection and faster HVAC inlet shutdown
- CH4 specific  No false alarms from other hydrocarbon gases, oil mists or even diesel fumes as experienced with many other flammable gas detection technologies including Xenon flash and filament lamp based IR devices.
Methane (CH4) - XD
This cross duct gas detector is specific to Natural Gas / Methane (CH4). Typically mounted on opposite sides of ventilation ducting and with a genuine speed of response of less than 1 second, this device is ideal for the fast shutdown of HVAC dampers or boost air flow rates as required. With no consumable parts and the patented daily auto-self testing facility called ‘SimugasTM’, the Senscient ELDSTM CH4 XD, cross duct detector offers significant operational cost savings over conventional fixed point and cross duct flammable gas detectors.
Features :
- Fast speed of response (<1 seconds) Â Increased safety by providing earlier warning.
- SimuGasTM daily auto gas testing No manual intervention or on-going cost for routine gas testing.
- Ultra narrow wavelength operation  Improved uptime availability in heavy fog and rain conditions compared to conventional Xenon flash and filament lamp based IR devices.
- Increased sensitivity over conventional Xenon flash and filament lamp based IR devices, e.g. 0-10,25 or 100% LEL Â Providing earlier detection and faster activation of HVAC executive actions.
- CH4 specific No false alarms from other hydrocarbon gases, oil mists or even diesel fumes as experienced with many other flammable gas detection technologies including Xenon flash and filament lamp based IR devices.
Methane (CH4) - XC
This cross duct gas detector is specific to Methane (CH4). The separate transmitter and receiver assemblies are certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres in above ground industrial applications and can detect CH4 over distances of 0.5 to 5 meters. Constructed in high grade corrosion resistant 316 Stainless Steel this device is ideally suited for harsh environments. Typically mounted on opposite sides of ventilation ducting and with a genuine speed of response of less than 0.25 seconds, this device is ideal for the fast indication of gas concentration and the activation of process / ventilation control. With no consumable parts and the patented daily auto-self testing facility called ‘SimugasTM’, the Senscient ELDSTM CH4 XC, cross duct detector offers significant operational cost savings over conventional fixed point and cross duct flammable gas detectors.
